US airport delay API: FAA ground stops and closures
Live FAA National Airspace System status for US airports: ground stops, ground delay programs, arrival and departure delays (with minimum, maximum and trend) and closures, each with its reason. Give an IATA code such as LGA for one airport (normal when nothing is reported), or nothing for the whole country. Public FAA data, refreshed about every minute. Use before travel planning, logistics or customer notices.
When to use it
- Check an airport for ground stops, delays or closures before travel
- Warn customers or plan logistics around airport delays
- See every US airport with active delays at once
Inputs
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
airport | string | IATA airport code such as LGA, SFO or ORD (default: all US airports with events) |
Request
Over HTTP, with a card key from /credits:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer adt_…" "https://tools.funwords.eu/airport/status?airport=LGA"
Or one of your 25 free calls, no key:
curl "https://tools.funwords.eu/airport/status?airport=LGA&trial=1"
Without a key, the same URL answers 402 Payment Required with x402 and MPP terms, so an agent with a wallet pays per call in USDC (Base, Polygon, Arbitrum or Solana over x402; Base or Tempo over MPP) and retries.

Questions
Which airports?
US airports in the FAA National Airspace System status, by IATA code such as LGA, or all of them when no code is given.
How fresh is it?
Public FAA data, refreshed about every minute.
How do I pay?
Each successful call costs $0.01; failed calls are not charged. The first 25 calls are free. Then pay with card credits (from $1; the key goes in an Authorization header or, for clients that can only fetch a URL, as api_key= in the URL) or per call in USDC over x402 or MPP. No account is needed.
