Live gas prices on Base (chain 8453) read from the latest block: base fee and priority fee in gwei, suggested maxFeePerGas and maxPriorityFeePerGas in wei for an EIP-1559 transaction, how full the latest block is, and the estimated execution fee in ETH for an ETH transfer and an ERC-20 transfer. Use before sending a transaction on Base or to decide whether to wait for lower fees.

When an agent wants this

Get the current base fee and priority fee on Base in gwei
Take suggested maxFeePerGas and maxPriorityFeePerGas for an EIP-1559 transaction
See the estimated fee of an ETH or ERC-20 transfer before sending

Current gas price on Ethereum (eth_gasPrice): gas price, base fee and suggested priority fee in gwei, plus what a plain ETH transfer (21,000 gas) costs right now. Takes no input. Use before sending a transaction or to decide whether to wait; for the fee a past transaction actually paid use eth_receipt.

Questions

Does it need any input?

No. It reads the latest Base block (chain 8453) and reports how full it is.

Is this the same as /base/gas?

/base/gas is paused and points here: this tool has the same Base gas data plus the EIP-1559 fee suggestions.

How do I pay?

Each successful call costs the tool's price; failed calls are not charged. The first 25 calls are free. Then pay with card credits from $1 (the key goes in an Authorization header or as api_key= in the URL) or per call in USDC over x402 or MPP. No account is needed.
