Web page summarizer API: summary and key points from a URL
Give a URL, get a short summary of the page plus three to six key points, ready to drop into an agent's context. Fetches the page, strips navigation and boilerplate, and summarizes the main text with an LLM. HTML pages only; for a PDF use pdf_text, then ai_summarize_text. Use for research, news triage, link previews and deciding whether a page is worth reading in full. For the full text use extract.
When to use it
- Research, news triage, link previews and deciding whether a page is worth reading in full
- Get a short summary plus three to six key points ready for an agent's context
Inputs
| Name | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
url (required) | string | Absolute http(s) URL of the page to summarize |
Request
Over HTTP, with a card key from /credits:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer adt_…" "https://tools.funwords.eu/summarize?url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FHTTP_402"
Without a key, the same URL answers 402 Payment Required with x402 and MPP terms, so an agent with a wallet pays per call in USDC (Base, Polygon, Arbitrum or Solana over x402; Base or Tempo over MPP) and retries.
Example result
{
"url": "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes",
"title": "List of HTTP status codes - Wikipedia",
"lang": "en",
"summary": "The page lists HTTP response status codes and what each one means, grouped into five classes.",
"keyPoints": [
"1xx codes are informational",
"402 Payment Required is reserved for future use"
],
"sourceChars": 12000,
"sourceTruncated": true
}

Questions
Does it work on PDFs?
No, HTML pages only; for a PDF use pdf_text, then ai_summarize_text.
Can I get the full text instead?
Yes, with /extract.
How do I pay?
Each successful call costs $0.01; failed calls are not charged. This tool is not in the free calls; pay with card credits (from $1; the key goes in an Authorization header or, for clients that can only fetch a URL, as api_key= in the URL) or per call in USDC over x402 or MPP. No account is needed.
